Limestone

Melbourne five piece Limestone are relatively newcomers on the pub rock scene, this five-track EP, their first is a fairly straight ahead mainstream release. Acknowledging their obvious influences: Matchbox 20 and The Counting Crows, Limestone play what may be termed a formulaic style of rock utilising the great vocal range and ability of lead singer Bren. It is an especially honest guitar based release from a band that is prepared to do the hard yards to get the message across. Highlights include track 4 ‘Mistake’, which has a more melodic rythym and vibe, in addition to the OZ rock riff swagger that is the opening darker track ‘Linger’. Definitely worth checking out, soon to be playing at a pub near you.
