A huge year of developing their craft and gathering new fans has culminated in the release of their debut album. There is a raw, determined texture to the Perth band and, led by young singer/guitarist Katy Steele, there seems much to look forward to. The energy and melody is uplifting as the album streams through the various moods. Already, “Beautiful To Me” has been a real crowd-pleaser to live audiences, while other tracks to note are the atmospheric “Message To God” and “Close To You”, which bring the listener a better sense of the Little Birdy charm. This is a significant leap forward from the band’s earlier EP and the close-knit combination has emerged, in just less than three years, close to the forefront of Australian music.
