Mark Ashmore’s ‘On The Inside’ EP is like the anti-depressant of the music world. No matter how down in the dumps you are, you put this EP on and Ashmore’s infectious, uplifting pop styling and and vocals will have a smile on your face in no time. ‘On The Inside’ is happy, enriching acoustic pop that will put a spring in your step, while the epic sounding ‘Two Too Many’ works exceptionally well and is the best track on offer here. ‘Familiar’ sees Ashmore insert an electronic sparkle into this music, and once again this is a track that you will find yourself humming along to. ‘Shiver’s Rising’ is slow moving, moody pop while ‘Love’ borders on that Backstreet Boys sound that could just win Ashmore commercial radio play. A great little EP for those grey days. If catchy melodies are the new black then Ashmore will definitely be in fashion this year.
