Mat McHugh is the front man and songwriter behind the band The Beautiful Girls. While that band is having a break, he has been readying himself for a debut solo album. In doing this, Mat has assembled a group of musicians under the name of Mat Mchugh & The Black Bird. The first single is ‘Darling This Scene Must End’, and it sees a reflective acoustic McHugh deliver his unique style with seemingly a greater spontaneity of expression.
