Actually made for the car lovers market - assumingly people with booming bass systems, the tracks on disc 1 Bass Heavy Hip Hop are sure to test out any audio arrangement. This disc features many bass-laden fat beats from R’nB artists such as T-pain, Chingy, Fergie, Nelly. Party Like a Rock Star by Shop boys features a killer guitar riff and is definitely one of the highlights of this disc. Chamillionaire feat Kelis does not disappoint and carries punchy beats atypical of many of her hits. Disc two sticks features subsonic D’ n’ B and electro. The first half of this CD is defiantly drum and base featuring Bass Kleph, Plump DJs and Pendulum. Daddio by 30hz is sure to be a club favourite with its dirty electro feel and fractured breakbeat groove. The last instalment on this 3 CD set is perhaps the most disappointing. Labelled as Slammin’ hardstyle and techno it heads more in the direction of happy hardcore and sports many trance anthems with prominent synths, which tend to sound a little bit cheesy. Overall, the selling point for this compilation would be the R’nB hip hop element which features a great mixed bag of tracks.
