Anne McCue

Australian singer/songwriter Anne McCue has been based in Los Angeles over the past four years and she has drawn great support from many US performers for her amazing guitar talent. This is a brilliant collection of music that canvasses everything from roots, to slices of pop and foot-stomping rock. The voice is variable, ranging from sweet to edginess, but her guitar playing is something to behold. The skill achieved in her days in Australia has honed her talent into something significant. Her blues guitar background in Australia and even Vietnam is brought together beautifully here. One track worth noting is “I Want You Back”, which is inspired by the late Johnny Cash. I understand that it has been a highlight of her live shows. But it’s unfair to separate one track from the set because there is consistency in quality and it will send the listener cruising along happily.
