:: My Friend The Chocolate Cake - Parade: The Best Of…

My Friend The Chocolate Cake

This collection captures the finest moments from this Australian band that had been somewhat underrated over the years. The outfit was formed in 1989 and the instigators were David Bridie and Helen Mountfort, as an offshoot from the previous band Not Drowning Waving. They quickly endeared themselves to the independent music lovers and it resulted in several studio and live recordings. However, the mainstream media couldn’t understand them. They deservedly won an ARIA Award for the brilliant song “I’ve Got A Plan”. That is the feature track from this album, although fans will adore other tracks like “The Romp”, and “A Midlife’s Tale”. The band was able to capture verious moods and attitudes in writing much about the Australian landscape and it saw them become hugely popular in remote Australian regions. This is a worthy collection that is well recommended.
