:: Millionaire - Paradisiac

Millionaire

After being blown away by their previous album, ‘Paradisiac’ comes across as over-the-top and it seems like they are trying to appease a particular market. Produced by Josh Homme (yes him of Queens Of The Stone Age fame), Millionaire seem to have lost that spark and freshness which comes with delivering such an impressive debut. This time around they sound like QOTSA clones without the original sounds or rollicking tunes. Their uniqueness has been lost somewhere between albums. Pity, as this Nordic alt/rock act offered up something different. As it stands, ‘Paradisiac’ has a few saving graces (‘I'm On A High’, ‘Ballad Of Pure Thought’, ‘We Don't Live There Anymore’), but generally it feels artificial and could be excused as being a QOTSA offshoot or side project for Homme.
