This New Zealand band has been a strong force in their country and their likeable sound is starting to make inroads in Australia. The indie rock influences and punk elements give a good, solid sound. The first part of the album shows off the indie nature with a strong bass sound and more finer pop strides in the tracks “Take It I Don’t Want It” and “My Arpeggio”. The noise mounts towards the end and gives the listener some fiery bursts. Overall, a nifty little release that might go unnoticed by too many. The Mint Chicks is a lively band that has plenty more to offer.
