:: Missing Hours - Missing HoursMissing HoursBrother-sister duo, James and Emma Hewitt comprise Missing Hours. They come from Geelong in Victoria and it‘s great to see them release their debut album. I've heard Emma sing for a few years and she's been near the top of my list of potentially great Australian female vocalists. Therefore, I'm pleased that this moment has arrived. There are some strong songs such as the first single 'Falling Down’, ‘Make You Better’, ‘Machine’ and closing track ‘Fading Away. The album was mixed in the USA and has the glossy production values about it. It can work for or against, but there are various textures and contains a mix of pop, metallic rock and yet, a track like 'Everything Will Be Alright’ shows the band‘s versatility with ballads and Emma comes into her own with her beautiful soaring voice. They even throw in a cover song 'Send Me An Angel’, originally recorded 1980's band Real Life. Overall, the music is very original and, with the punchy guitar riffs, heavy drum beats and the chemistry between the siblings, completes a very good debut effort for Missing Hours. | ![]() http://www.missinghours.com.au |
