This is a Florida-based band that has been getting good airplay with their variable rock styles. The local area has served them well with good reviews through the CMJ network and the success on Internet radio means there is something going for them. They can be soulful at times, then becoming devilish. Singer-songwriter Kevin Steele leads their musical attack with fine vocals and occasional harmonica accompaniment. Some good moments include the summer rock feel of “Bumble Bee”, the rollicking “Black Cat Blues”, and the tender love song “Linda Marie”. The variations lean from punk to soul and even a rootsy flavour, thereby showcasing their talent. Mojo Gurus look sure to be strong amongst the indie live scene.
