:: Moonbotica - Moonbotica

Moonbotica

They're one of the biggest dance/electronica remixers in Europe, and they've just wrapped up an Australian tour of their new, self titled complication CD. Mooonbotica, featuring artists including Planet Funk, Moisse T and Richard Dorfmeister (not to be confused with the Stiffmeister from American Pie), is a nineteen-track set mixing electro, house and even the hip hop beat, but taking out all of that annoying pretentious rap. The result? A very enjoyable album. There's really no single word to describe it, its part trance, and even part retro, with classic 80's style synthesised instruments prominent throughought the mix, with some tracks even sounding as though they'd be perfect for a classic 80's videogame. But despite its retro pastiche, it still sounds very modern and fresh, and not at all in your face, unlike a lot of other headache inducing remix compilations on the shelves today. But hey, they're #1 in Europe, so they must know what they're doing. All up, Moonbotica is refreshing, upbeat, uplifting, and a lot of fun to listen to.
