Not having seen the film, it‘s hard to put this soundtrack into context. Regardless I'll carry on. Made up of original instrumentals and vocal tracks done in an old time style similar to that of the '30s, '40s and perhaps '50s music, it's mostly the work of composer/conductor George Fenton. The oldies will dig it, while the youngies won't. But then they probably haven't had a chance to truly appreciate fine music yet – still caught up in following trends; not making them! It's fair to say while it's not really my thing, even for me at the tender age of 33, I am able to appreciate the beauty and warmth emanating from this soundtrack and the class of the music being composed. While soundtracks are a hit and miss affair, 'Mrs Henderson Presents’ is a worthy addition to any true music connoisseur's collection.
