:: Muse - Black Holes & RevelationsMuse“Knights Of Cydonia” would have to be one of the best closing tracks of an album that I have heard in many years. It’s like a closing act to some intense conflict in outer space, such is the full-scale proportions. It also sums up what is the best overall album of 2006 so far because, in this band’s statement of being true to themselves, they’ve let go with an outstandingly ambitious record that is mind-blowing from start to finish. Few would dare consider producing an album of such magnitude, yet Muse has the ability to pull it off with unconventional style and creativity. I have been a huge fan ever since their initial record and seeing them on their first visit to Melbourne in front of barely 50 people. Boy, hasn’t this band kicked on, leaving many others for dead in the definition of what music can sound like, and the execution of a wonderful package of rock ‘n’ roll. Yet, despite the outstanding production and song quality, Muse is probably destined to remain underrated because of silly perceptions and the simple exploits of radio programmers. Songs like “Supermassive Black Hole” and “Starlight” should be certain hits in any age of musical standards. Lead singer Matt Bellamy comes into his own as big player in the ideal rock world. He can engender enormous spirit and strength in getting the band’s messages across. His fellow band members help produce a set of epic songs with anthemic guitar riffs that hit the mark and draw the listener in unlike any band probably can these days. This band doesn’t know any limits. Simply brilliant! | ![]() http://www.muse.mu |
