Opening with the punchy ‘You Need Discipline’, this album sounds like a straight forward pop-punk affair reminiscent of Blink 182 in their teen anthem hey-day. Vocal harmonies, punchy drums and catchy hooks, check, check and check. Closer inspection reveals teen angst has been repackaged for the modern era with a strong dose of motivational psychology. Lyrics like ‘take time to do what you do best’ and ‘we’ve got the drive and the will to succeed’ sound like they have been lifted from Dr Phil’s latest self help book. Catchy pop-rock aimed squarely at the burgeoning under eighteen ‘emo’ market. Harmless fun.
