This song has anthem written all over it. A quiet vocal intro that slowly builds into a powerful crescendo that’s impossible to resist. Really, why would you want to resist this? It’s a fresh, exciting slice of delicious punk rock pie. My Chemical Romance is certainly riding a wave of success, as are their contemporary punk/rock outfits such as Panic! At the Disco and AFI. Their music appeals to a wide cross section of the public and their ability to produce catchy, largely inoffensive music has ensured their popularity. ‘My Chemical Romance’ is not new to the music scene, but this single will act as a springboard into the mainstream and an entirely new level of success. ‘Welcome to the Black Parade’ has been a runaway hit in Australia and my guess is, this band will be one to watch in 2007.
