:: Natalie Imbruglia - Counting Down The Days

Natalie Imbruglia

Exploding onto the scene several years back with her mega hit ‘Torn’ and the debut album ‘Left In The Middle’ from which it came, this looks to have completely derailed Nat‘s career before it ever had a chance to really shine. On 'Counting Down The Days’ her voice is as strong as ever and the songs as beautiful as her. It‘s just a pity many people won't get the opportunity to hear them. But I suppose that's the price you pay for instant stardom. People expect the same and anything less is considered failure. Pity, because any of the tracks from opener 'Starting Over’ right through closer ‘Honeycomb Child’ are as good as, if not better than, anything she‘s ever done before. There's a very noticeable and definite maturity in her lyrics and songwriting, as Natalie truly comes of age. It's fair to say FM radio should be all over this album and if songs like 'I Won't Be Lost’, ‘Shiver’, ‘Perfectly’ or ‘On The Run’ don't get played, then it's a travesty and they want to take a good hard look at themselves. In the meantime, pick up a copy of Natalie Imbruglia's latest offering and get lost in its understated beauty.
