Never having been a fan of Neil Young and being young, I would have to say this album would strongly appeal to the older demographic. With its slightly country feel and relaxed beats some of the songs are as bland as the album cover, but every now and again, an introduction to a song grabs attention. The spark of interest is short lived as the song gives way to similar beats and melodies, repeated throughout the album which is a real let down. The traditional American anthem ‘America The Beautiful’ however, is the standout track and should be listened to first. A gospel number, it features a stunning symphony of voices all in united chorus. Apart from that there is really nothing more to be said. If you are a fan, then obviously you would appreciate this album more than I, but maybe I just need convincing.
