Nessa is a new artist to the Australian music scene this year and she provides a fresh soul-pop sound. She brings the well-acclaimed talent of producer Don Was to the fore here in her debut album. The potential seems enormous. There is adeptness in how Nessa can transform from the funky pop flashes “Nothing But Love”, the opening track, to acoustic-driven and stripped back numbers, like “Happy Day” and “Woman’s Work”. She expresses herself well in these less-accompanied tracks and demonstrates enough, in this first real foray, to go to greater things.
