:: Nick Lachey - What’s Left Of MeNick LacheyThey say we live in an image driven world. If so, then the teenyboppers will swoon over this one. Check Lachey’s promotional pictures; he is suspiciously tanned with not very modest swells of gym bunny muscle that emerge from his too tight t-shirt, but best of all, his sun-kissed, sad brow is furrowed. He is sad over his post Jess divorce, but fortunately pity, self-pity at that, can be lucrative! Accordingly then, Lachey’s single “What’s Left Of Me” from his pity inducing, yet handsome pictured album should push the single to the charts, for a while, if marketing MTV gurus are doing their job well. What they’re marketing is a song featuring powerful vocals and lyrics that are well, unique. Unique? Well, while some teenage girls might happily faint over contrived lyrics like “now I'm broken and I'm faded… but you can have what's left of me”, others might cringe, and others might brazenly admit that while Lachey has nice vocals, the song lacks any emotion that would be relevant to such painful post broken heart subject matter. But, MTV listeners may not have such a harsh critique for the ex Newlywed, former 98 Degrees singer and there is no doubt that boy band ballad will be a hit, but the question is, will it be enough of a hit to ensure a comeback? Stay tuned for songs in his upcoming album with other titles that may or may not oh so subtlely refer to his famous blonde ex like, “I can’t hate you anymore” “I do it for you” “Run to me.” | ![]() |
