:: The Muffs - Really Really Happy

The Muffs

Thankfully, The Muffs are back, having been absent for too long. Singer Kim Shattuck, who wrote and produced this album, snarls her way through the fun-loving seventeen tracks. She wears her punk roots well in writing about her introspective feelings. Despite the emotion-tinged lyrics, the album is generally upbeat and pop-laden. The band has always had the knack of creating hooky sounds. Kim's vocals and guitar are well augmented by Roy McDonald's snappy drum work. With the groovy melodies and 50s/60s influences, this is reachable punk-pop music that fulfils its purpose to make you really happy.
