When I think of Ocean Colour Scene’s “This Day Should Last Forever” I think about an artist throwing paint at a canvas. Why? Because I’m having flashbacks to Mercury Rev at the Opera House earlier this year…Just kidding. Seriously, I think of that imagery because the track is very colourful and even the cover artwork depicts puddles with colour light reflecting. The song fuses a bit of pop and country and you can feel yourself clapping along to the track with the musician ala “Under My Thumb” by The Rolling Stones. So back to that colour wheel, this track forms a tiny piece of the extravagant, rainbow coloured puzzle which is the band's album “A Hyperactive Workout For The Flying Squad.” And with that I will leave you with the image of a man holding up a sign saying applause.
