This talented Scot has been sending critics into spasms of hyperbole ever since the release of his debut album These Streets in 2006 at the tender age of 19. While comparisons to Al Green may be slightly over stepping the mark, Nutini is equipped with a mellifluous voice capable of tearing out heartstrings in an endearingly broad Scottish brogue. ‘New Shoes’ is likeable enough, although it doesn’t set the world on fire in the same way as his debut single Last Request did. A talent on the rise.
