:: Pete Murray - See The SunPete MurrayI was expecting this to be on the boring side and uninspirational… and surprised that it is! Should‘ve called it 'Feeler 2’ and been done with it. As it is, ‘See The Sun’ merely follows the template laid down by his first album. It never ventures into any new or challenging territory and I‘ll be amazed if this sells anywhere near as many copies as his slow burner 'Feeler’ did. Still, it will keep his fans happy so I suppose that‘s a win. Regardless, there's very little here that shines or truly engages the listener. 'Better Days’ is the “safe” opening single, ‘Lost Soul’ is the predictable heartfelt ballad, ‘Trust’ is the faster, more rocking alternative while ‘Remedy’ is about the only exciting and viable option here. This isn't a case of “Tall Poppy” syndrome where I'm out to cut him down, it's just a classic case of an artist not prepared to take some risks, preferring instead to play it safe and pander to his audience. | ![]() www.petemurray.com |
