One things that is immediately obvious with Pink Martini’s “Hang On Little Tomato” is that it is impossible to pigeon hole this twelve-piece group. The press release describes them as “Somewhere between a 1930’s Cuban dance orchestra, a classical chamber music ensemble, a Brazilian marching street band, and Japanese film noir. Personally, some of the tracks remind me of a mix of music you can imagine some hip ballroom dancing couple doing a sultry samba to. Other tracks have a timeless quality which I can’t help but liken to Dean Martin. Enjoy the feel good music from a group that sounds as sweet as it sounds, Pink Martini.
