:: Pixie Lott - Turn It Up

Pixie Lott

Young UK songstress Pixie Lott looks set to become one of the young stars of 2010. She burst on to the scene in an endearing fashion with the songs ‘Mama Do’ and ‘Boys And Girls’. Now comes a brilliantly cohesive album. And that is despite Pixie‘s desire to offer something different to each track. Such a course of action may make a record very disjointed, but Pixie's gorgeous voice lends itself to great versatility. She is a most stylish young woman and her smoky, soul-tinged singing is surely set to sweep the music world in a big way. Some other notable tracks include the sweet 'Cry Me Out’, with a gorgeous chorus. Pixie‘s perfectly executed high notes are a treat. The song 'Jack’ contains fine piano and drum beat with fun-filled lyrics. ‘Nothing Compares’ is the definitive ballad and the chorus is epic but the verses are too overshadowed as they stand up well in their own right. ‘Boys And Girls’ has a big band feel yet has that modern pop element to make it charming. Then, there‘s the cool, melodic touch on the track 'Band Aid’. So, despite the apparent twists and turns of styles, Pixie has developed a gorgeous set of tracks that suit her soul-filled voice and persona. As a teenager, it is natural for her voice to continue developing and we'll definitely see some stronger music in the future. However, what we see now, is a brilliant talent who is very delectable and expressive, and who is destined for greater things in the future.
