:: The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus - Lonely Road

The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus

Florida based The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus are one of the few bands in the world these days that aim to keep alive the kind of alternative music that was made famous by groups like Soundgarden. And while their last album, ‘Don’t You Fake It’ set the band on they way to glory, it is ‘Lonely Road’ that proves there is a talent contained in this band that has to be heard to be believed. The first thing that hits you about ‘Lonely Road’ is the awesome guitar playing by Matt Carter which is there for all to hear on the opening track ‘You Better Pray’ which sounds like Spiderbait at their heaviest. The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus’s talent is there for all to hear on ‘No Spell’ which consists of a great melody that will have you humming along in no time. ‘Pen & Paper’ sounds like your standard 90’s alternative rock but ‘Pull Me Back’ and ‘Step Right Up’ sees The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus take on a commercial heavy rock sound which they pull off surprisingly well. But where this band really succeeds is with the slower epic song; normally heavy rock bands make this kind of tracks sound cheesy but The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus does the opposite… they make them sound like masterpieces. Tracks like ‘Represent’, ‘Believe’ and ‘Senioritis’ sound great and can be listened to over and over. And if the experimental sounding ‘Godspeed’ is the style of music this band will be moving into, then I will be the first inline when their new album comes out. The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus is doing the alternative music scene proud and hopefully they keep this sound going for a long time to come.
