Kooky, individual and intoxicating. These are all words that could be used to describe Regina Spektor’s wonderful sound. Like a breath of fresh air in a sometimes stagnant music scene, Spektor sweeps in and manages to cajole and captivate with seeming effortlessness. Her latest single, ‘Fidelity’, is a powerful showcase of these talents. In essence it’s a simple song of love, about all the things that make it desirable, wanted and required. Spektor speaks to the everyman in us all, breaking down the complex stuff into 3 minute sonic sessions of understanding. It is a rare and enjoyable talent and I look forward to hearing a lot more.
