‘To A Modern Love’ is a strong release from the 5-piece Brisbane band Repeat Offender. Sure to be popular with angst ridden teens everywhere, the band offers the perfect mix of edgy punk intros that build into harmonic pop choruses. Even more impressive is Repeat Offender's ability to create this mixture and maintain their credibility. At no point was I compelled to ask, ‘are these guys the male Veronicas?’ Make no mistake they are the real deal. The EP is an excellent introduction and hopefully a promise of things to come. Remember guys, promises should be kept not broken, so keep the good stuff coming. One final point, be sure to check out track 4, one of the best cover versions of a classic I have heard in a while.
