Resurrectors

This is quite an achievement by this 9-piece reggae band from Sydney. Resurrectors is a multicultural collection of influences, from Caribbean to New Zealand, and the band members express themselves with genuine feeling. Generally the reggae style is upbeat, speaking of all the goodwill the world should embrace. Right from the opening title track ‘Healing’, the vocalists give us food for thought in delivering their poignant message, whilst still being capable of providing the relaxed reggae vibe. It is a standout track on the album, and it also receives a special bonus track treatment, courtesy of a remix by DJ Fitchie of Fat Freddy’s Drop. The majority of tracks are in a chilled environment, about five minutes in length, and blending smooth instrumentation. One would have to be in the right spirits to appreciate the CD’s effect and it would be wise to see Resurrectors in a live performance to gain a better perspective of their capabilities. Hopefully, we’ll have those opportunities soon.
