In a word, brilliant. The debut artist album from Robert Strauss is an expertly-produced long player of exceptional quality and more of what we’ve come to expect from London’s acclaimed House imprint BBE. A warm collection of disco and jazz-laced dreamers, proper deep house gems, film score-ish type compositions and even hip-hop laced tracks feature on Mr Feelings, accompanied throughout by some hilarious interludes, of which ‘Jeff The Dude’ and ‘Fog Party’ are the best. This is a rare treat from Strauss and standout tracks are hard to pick, although ‘Fukk Around’ featuring Moka Only is a classic, rolling party jam, while ‘Close Your Eyes’ featuring Saidah Baba Talibah continues to rock clubs months after its release.
