:: Rob Thomas - ...Something To BeRob ThomasI never liked Matchbox 20 (or Twenty after the slight name change) and while I gave this album a chance, I don‘t like Rob Thomas either (go figure!). So it was with much pain that I reviewed his first solo effort and I'm sorry to say, it's more of the same, safe, generic, middle-of-the-road, commercial dribble that has seen him become revered all over the FM dial! Having said that however, there are a few redeeming qualities such as the slow ballad 'Ever The Same’ or the rocky ‘This Is How My Heart Breaks’, which are quite catchy and nearly had me tapping my foot in time. Nearly! Generally though it lacks any edge or credibility and to be honest, could very easily be mistaken for a new Matchbox 20 album. But if bland, savourless fair is your choice of musical foods, then Rob Thomas and ‘…Something To Be’ will be like a culinary feast of delightful delica cies and tasty morsels on which to gorge yourself. Enjoy!
