:: Sheli Stevens - Come Home

Sheli Stevens

Sheli Stevens is a new singer that I have recently heard and she comes across as a smooth and capable singer. Her album “Come Home” delivers some worthy flavours of pop and folk and she has a good sense of occasion. The songs are generally well produced and crafted and Sheli gives her fullness to each track. There are many good singers in the United States so it is difficult to assess the prospects for Sheli to hit a wider market, but the Montreal-based singer is gathering plenty of fans for her personable style. She engaged the services of fine producer and songwriter Eric Dick who has compiled the arrangements with aplomb. This complements Sheli's honest vocal delivery and gives a real touch to each song. There is a good even spread of consistency in the attraction, although a couple of highlights are the upbeat “Since I Let You Go” and “Still The One”. The album probably drifts off a little towards the end but there is no denying Sheli's overall talent and it would surprise if she didn't go on and forge a strong career. She has great potential.
