:: Sianna Lee - Phoenix PropellerSianna LeeFormer singer of the band Love Outside Andromeda Sianna Lee has gladly resurfaced with a debut solo album, Phoenix Propeller. I say gladly because Sianna was a striking force behind her old band and it‘s fitting that she kicks on in a solo endeavour and forge her own career. This is indie rock at its brooding and crystallised best. The music can be quite tense and vigorous but Sianna refuses to display too much emotion and anger but uses her motivation to sing with great purpose. You can sense that she had great control over the album. Right from the outset, with the opening track 'Asie Incomplete’ opening up a sweeping new emotional outlet for Sianna, there is much to be moved and intrigued by. The closing track, though, ‘It’s Dark Enough To See The Stars’ is one that senses all will break down around Sianna as she finishes in an introspective fashion. There is much uniqueness and honesty in the album and Sianna sings gloriously in backing her thoughts and darker side of her persona. Her voice is stronger than I remember before and has that bold, spirited mood that connects with the lyrics. She ensures that listeners will be connected. It's a most interesting listen. | ![]() http://www.siannalee.com |
