:: Silo - Ice Queen

Silo

Even though the band has been formed for some time, this is my first experience of Silo. The work behind this EP comes from the band’s determination to execute atmospheric rock pieces, coupled with the production talent of Lindsay Gravina (worked with Jet and Spiderbait, amongst others) in generating extra dynamics. There had been a hold-up in the band’s career while lead singer Sophie Hyde had a baby. We now reach 2005 and the band has released the EP, eager to reclaim momentum and get cracking musically again. The EP is a good result for them. The songs have an emotional edge and raw, honest drive to captivate listening audiences. There has been some airplay already and they’re set to become even busier on the live circuit, covering as much territory on the Australian East Coast as much as possible. Worth a listen.
