In March 2007, Sydney's Daily Telegraph newspaper reported “independent Sydney pop phenomenon Sneaky Sound System are becoming one of the most sought after acts in the world”. They were bang on the money. Set to return to centre stage with a fabulous new single, a new album, an international record deal, and their first Australian tour of the year, this Sydney-based Australian dance group are going from strength to strength. They have built up quite a following in such a short time and winning Best Dance Release and Breakthrough Artist at the 2007 ARIA awards merely confirms the accolades are justified. Now into their second album, aptly titled ‘2’, S.S.S has raised the bar. From the nightclub keyboard bass of the opening track, ‘Kansas City’, to the straight-out pop nature of the final song, ‘Where Do I Begin?’ this is a solid album of music that gets the toes tapping and the feet moving. While it may not be the greatest pop-dance release this year, it’s fun, energetic and enjoyable. You can’t ask for much more than that.
