Sophie has developed into one of Melbourne’s leading lights on the music scene. She demonstrates terrific vocal ability and this single, from the forthcoming debut album, is a gorgeous pop release. Her live performances continue to grow in stature and she is gaining new fans all the time. The melody-laden textures on “Anywhere” indicate depth and maturity and her work with Richard Pleasance seems to have given her more edge and confidence. We can only look forward to the album. A note of sadness too because the late Paul Hester contributes his drumming skills on the song. The B-sides are two solo acoustic tracks that will appeal to listeners further.
