This is the debut album by Sydney four-piece Sparkadia, and it is one of the best debut records you'll hear this year. The band has really forged a great combination over the past few years. With driving rhythms and a flair for modern pop songs, the band's melodies and clever songwriting are sure to gain a strong audience as they continue to develop. The reflective vocals of Alex Burnett, especially on tracks like “Connected”, “Kiss Of Death” and “Morning Light” appeal instantly - all displaying variousa moods. They re-recorded “Morning Light” as a means of exemplifying their developing confidence and ability. The sparkling production quality comes courtesy of British producer Ben Hillier who has worked with Doves and Blur. He lent his hand to shaping this recording. Sparkadia have real prospects in the pop music sphere and this is an excellent album.
