:: Spit Syndicate - Towards The LightSpit SyndicateThis album is not all rap with a beat. There’s melody, atmosphere and a different, individual sound to each track. The balance between these elements is vital to be appealing and successful and I think they’ve hit the nail on the head! The tracks have a nice trend of females and males singing either in the chorus or verse, which break it up and differentiate each track. Clearly telling stories in each of their songs, they can easily be heartfelt, as a lot of hip hop/rap is telling a true story about love, loss, family, or life. Lyrics are always real and wanting to touch and tell a story and this album is all about that. There’s also a track titled ‘The Lucky Country’ which includes snippets of reports in Australia, which have affected people in one way or another. These guys have a very street/alternative look without the rap style, which suits their aussie hip hop style perfectly. Obviously there must be some graffiti at the back. | ![]() http://www.myspace.com/spitsyndicate |
