After a five-year silence, it is a welcome return for the velvety vocals and sublime arrangements of Supreme Beings Of Leisure. The team of Geri Soriano-Lightwood and Ramin Sakurai had produced some glorious music earlier this decade (in particular the brilliant “Strangelove Addiction”) and had been sorely missed. Now, “11i” showcases an assortment of influences and sounds - Eastern instrumentation, dreamy beats and lush strings - and it all works very cohesively. There is plenty of engaging chilled music for those serene coffee-table moods. The production is impeccable and it is not hard to admire their diversity and creativity. Each track has its own story to tell like chapters of a book. Mind you, despite all this, there is still a good deal of scope and potential that lies ahead. You can expect the unexpected.
