Following on from the gorgeous grooves of the similarly-themed Paris collection and the eclectic Berlin set, Petrol Records provides dance music lovers with something much closer to home. The seductive grooves and soothing jazzy styles from Sydney are well served by some of the city’s leading dance exponents. The CD cover shows a glamorous Sydney icon Bessie Bardot. She is a person who epitomises the femininity and artistry that is offered. Some of the contributors worth noting are Endorphin, Infusion, Eon, Telemetry Orchestra, and Disco Montego. The soothing grooves of Endorphin have been his mainstay for several years. There are lively female vocals on the Disco Montego track, and the wonderfully jazz-infused combo captures Eon’s essence appropriately. Overall, it’s a good example of the music that carries Sydney’s identity and another worthy addition to this collection series.
