Taking Back Sunday has returned with a darker, louder and more intense sound. No doubt this is partly due to their working with Eric Valentine, who is responsible for some Queens of the Stone Age tracks. There isn’t much space to chill out in this album. It gives you about ten seconds to relax before it takes off at full speed on an angst ridden journey down adolescence. So if you like to get pumped full of rock, this album’s for you. Despite having this youthful sound, Taking Back Sunday is a tight band of musicians that know what they’re doing. They are dynamic and their musical sensitivity shows through the heaviest of sounds.
