Taking Back Sunday

Another self proclaimed melodic hardcore release from a group of attractive young American males. The recent explosion of this post emo / pop emo movement has admittedly, brought a healthy dose of rock back to the consuming public. However, on this new offering ‘twenty-twenty surgery’, we are not presented with anything new, fresh or interesting. Sounding like a mix between The Killers, Queens of the Stone Age and Thursday yet not sounding half as relevant as any of them may occasionally work for some but on this track it sounds rather dull and complacent. A little disappointing for a band that should be rising above the current tide not immersing themselves in it.
