Telemetry Orchestra’s wafting sound is a harmonious blend of indie-pop, gorgeous vocals and more electronic trimmings than your family Christmas tree. A treat for the senses, their third album ‘Empire’ opens with the psychedelic upswing of ‘Cherry Tree’. The accompanying animated video by director Dael Oates merrily tips its hat to The Beatles’ Yellow Submarine and the Telemetry Orchestra clearly inhabit a similarly sublime musical utopia. In this spirit, the band delves into the blissed out ‘Miles Away’ and synth-rock number ‘Pinch of Distraction’. ‘Empire’ is worth devoting some time to, as it works on an almost subconscious level, delivering some vivid daydreams and offering up something fresh on each listen.
