This is good indie rock from the Sydney band. Lots of attitude and confidence has seen them score good support slots for bands like Jet and Grinspoon, and they promise so much from this interesting phase of their career. Having built up a presence with many live shows, their songwriting indicates good potential and this recording was well compiled through the able studio work of Tim Powles (who has worked with The Church amongst others). Listen to some quirky moments and, although very local sounding, they demonstrate talent in providing some potent guitar sounds. They’ve used the influence of AC/DC and way back to the Masters Apprentices to engender their youth and cheekiness into songs about teenage romance, cars and animals. Well worth a listen and to check them out on the live circuit.
