The Click Five

The Click Five’s new single “Jenny” is a catchy, simple pop rock tune which will probably be well-liked among the teen crowd and lovers of simple pop music. Lead vocalist Kyle Patrick, the newest member of the band, delivers a strong vocal performance with his adaptable, energetic voice. Musically, the song is tight and clean, and the addition of the tinkling electric keys on top of the guitars adds a nice contrast. However, the lyrics are clichéd and shallow, describing yet another failed teenage relationship with no real depth or passion, and the composition is too simple to be impressive and memorable. “Jenny” is a safe yet endearing single from The Click Five, and proves the band has potential to create truly notable pop music, if they could muster the confidence to produce less conservative tracks.
