:: The Cops - 80 in the ShadeThe Cops‘80 in the Shade’ is different, and I mean that in the best sense of the word. It’s fresh, unique and fills me with a feeling of giddy anticipation. The Cops have made it difficult to label their music as a particular genre, which really only adds to its appeal. If I had to put a style name to it I would call it pop, but somehow that seems an injustice. To pigeonhole this music means that it’s categorised, that it’s for one particular market or target group. The thought that anybody might miss out on hearing this just seems plain wrong. The single ‘Call Me Anytime’ is as catchy and contagious as you could ask for, a tasty cocktail of musical talent. Other tracks including ‘Starve On My Love’ and ‘Let Me Be Your Weapon’ are just as impressive. Everything about this release suggests it’s going to soar. But don’t let me be the only one enjoying it. Go out and get a copy for yourself. | ![]() |
