The Destroyed

‘Russian Roulette’ is the latest album from veteran Boston punk rockers The Destroyed. The album features eight tracks (plus two bonus tracks) of non-stop guitar shredding and fierce drumming, combined with the irate vocals of singer, J.D Jackson. J.D Jackson wrote most of the songs on the album in 2005. However, there is one track ‘A Window’ that he wrote way back in 1977- having never presented the track to the band, he forgot all about it and resurrected it again in recent years for the purpose of this album. The Destroyed definitely have a history about them. They were one of Boston’s wildest punk bands of the 1970’s. Perhaps their biggest claim to fame was that they played with the J.Geils Band in front of a monster crowd. The band split in 1979. The guys reformed again in 2002 as a two-man outfit, with Bert Switzer on drums and J.D Jackson on guitar and lead vocals. Both men were original members of the band in the 70’s. ‘Russian Roulette’ is The Destroyed’s third album and is a follow up to 2003’s ‘Outa Control’ and 2002’s ‘Bert Switzer 1977-2002’.
