:: The Last Act - No Good Deed Goes UnpunishedThe Last ActAn opening instrumental starts the CD before the hard-edged sounds come to the fore in “Broken Dawn” “Full Volumage”. There is a resounding rock sensibility drawn from 70s/80s rock influences and, though slightly rough at times, shows true indie grit and great enthusiasm in generating their dedication to the hard rock cause. The title track is one to take an instant liking to and the track “Vision” captures that 70s rock sound adeptly. “Struggle” is one other track that goes slightly slower, but reaches for that dark atmosphere. To some, they may appear bland and dated as another run-of-the-mill heavy metal band. You won’t hear anything too fresh in style but The Last Act played skilfully in achieving what they’ve produced here. Good crunchy riffs and passionate vocals will win through most times and their fans will like the indie spirit. | www.thelastact.com |
