Being a new musical outfit from Sydney, The Live Room produced an impressive album, brought to attention by the fine vocal performance of singer-songwriter Moroney. He is originally from Ireland and settled in Sydney in 2000. Indi Star, a female violinist from New Zealand who also moved to Sydney, joins him on this project. A little while later, an inspired musical partnership developed. Then with Declan Kelly on bass, a group was formed. It has led to live shows and the desire to record this album. The result is some beautiful edge-filled pop, with lush instrumentation, including piano and double bass, to complement Indi Star’s melodic violin and cello input. There is strong commercial appeal throughout the tracks, something tangible enough to be scoped on an international level. Already, the band has recently supported Hothouse Flowers and The Whitlams on Australian tours. With good overall quality, this infectious debut recording could lead to much bigger things.
